Tax File Number Declaration Mobile App for business USERS

Tax File Number Declaration (TFND) is required to be submitted to ATO by employer when employing new staff. To date, businesses have the options to either fill out the form they collect from newsagents, Post Office, ATO for online lodgment via ELS software/portals and or SBR enabled software. All options require paper or documented copies on files for future references.

With paper form and ELS software submission options are becoming outgoing solution as ATO phases out ELS. SBR enabled software is the remaining option for business.

GovReports is the independent SBR enabled platform allowing business and tax practitioners to submit reports to ATO and other SBR ready government agencies regardless of the software use since 2010.

With the addition of the mobile app for TFND launched earlier this week, will make it easier for business to get access to TFND form and lodgment to ATO without the need for the TFND form printout or a wet signature.

The app can be downloaded from the App Store on iTunes or the Google Play Store, providing employer the options to either fill out the form completely and submit to Tax Office or invite the employee to fill out the Employee section of the form and submit back to the employer ready for lodgment.

The app lists out all the saved draft, sent for invitation and lodged TFNDs so it is easily monitored by the business.

App download is free and lodgment is chargeable at $12.50+GST per TFND submitted to ATO. Once lodgment is made, those with online GovReports account access can also view their lodgments online or directly from the app.

When receiving the invitation to complete the TFND form via email, employee can proceed to access form with a security code automatically sent to their email as they click view form. The process of filling out the form and sending it back to employer is straight forward.

The employer gets notification that the TFND has been submitted by the employee and ready for lodgment. This facility and process will save not only paper, time and cost for business on many fronts but also the convenience of accessibility for both employers and employees.

Currently the app is only available for business use and is a working progress for tax practitioner's access.

Existing GovReports business account holders can use their login details on the app for lodging TFND. While new business users will be required to enter business details, complete the authentication process with ATO before lodging.
